FPCD ASSOCIATE SCHOLAR PARTICPATES IN SYMPOSIUM AT
THE NEW SCHOOL IN NEW YORK CITY ON 19 OCTOBER 2007
FPCD Associate Scholar Dr. Michaela Hertkorn participated in a Symposium on 19 October, 2007 at The New School as part of the Economics of Security Study Group in cooperation with the Center for Security Studies, ETH Zurich Graduate Program in International Affairs at The New School Arms Trade Resources Center and the New American Foundation. The title of the symposium, Securing the Future: What Comes Next? evoked dynamic presentations from panel participants. In discussing Strategic Alternatives, Dr. Hertkorn discussed her research project that will be conducted in collaboration with the Foundation for Post Conflict Development. Other speakers were Ken Estes of the Marine Corps University, Isaiah Wilson of the United States Military Academy and Sean Costigan of the Center for Security Studies ETH Zurich. Other speakers at the symposium spoke under the theme of Policy Issues and included Steven Kosiak of the Center for Budgetary and Strategic Assessments, Dave Gold of The New School, Cindy Williams of MIT and Bill Hartung of the New American Foundation.
